The solution went beyond the client expectations and was based on a JBOSS cluster using JAVA JDK5.0 and EJB3.0 with hibernate and involved an heavy integration within the existing infrastructure (Auckland, New-Zealand). • 2005/12: 1 month contract in Melbourne, Australia, as a JSP Struts (using Hibernate for the backend) architect for a Verity search engine front-end designed to be integrated in BHPBilliton worldwide intranet. This very thiglty scheduled project was delivered on time and had me learn about small team management. • 2005/02 – 2005/07: 6 months contract as a consultant for capco (Bangalore, India). My principal tasks there where : ■ Technical responsible for the Calypso banking system competency pool, duty during which I updated and delivered trainings to the technical users of a major global bank and provided internal support in capco. ■ Developer on the Ortos risk management system created in compliance with the Basel II recommendations • 2004/01 – 2004/08: Hired on a 8 months contract in the Office National of Pensions of Belgium in order to setup the first JAVA J2EE project using JBOSS and BEA Websphere. ■ On one hand my job was to develop as example of a standard J2EE project a CMS integrating with the current scanning procedures already in place. ■ On the other hand to train my co-workers on the EJB and XML technologies. • 2002/01 - 2003/12: Software engineer in the Degroof Bank, institution specialized in private and corporate banking. (Brussels, Belgium) My responsibilities were: ■ The development of the bank middleware which made extensive use of XML and IBM MQSeries to transfer information between the different systems used in the company: GL OMS (front office), Odyssey triple'A (portfolio management system) and Fitech IBBA (back office). My principals tasks were the refactoring and development of the core server components needed to route, translate and aggregate information. ■ The analysis, design and development of an internal portal based on JAVA J2EE technology. This portal was made to answer to the functional needs the middleware wasn't designed for, like escalation, lightweight reporting and manual launching. It was conceited as a framework where applications could easily be described in terms of screens, parameters and actions by a non- Java person. The technologies used where JBOSS, Tomcat, XML/XSL, html and eclipse (via a plug-in using SOAP) plus XUL for the interfaces and SVG for the dynamic graphics generation.
